Lilah loves wearing her hat with her little sister (she calls them “twinsies”). These were taken when Lilah was still two. My little grown up girl. Lori’s a Supermom for sure. Sometimes it feels like I’ve got an entire brood of children, and I only have two!

The two of us went out about a week ago and shot these photos EARLY in the morning. Lilah was very curious about all of the frost on the ground. For the past six months I’ve been barraged daily with the question, “why?” (as I’m sure every parent of a two year old can attest).

Lilah: “Mommy, what is that white stuff on the grass?”

Me: “Frost.”

Lilah: “Why?”

Me: “Because it’s cold.”

Lilah: “Why?”

Me: “Because it’s almost winter.”

Lilah: “Why?”

Me: “Because winter follows autumn, just like in your Season’s Book, remember?”

Lilah: “Why?”

Me: “Because that’s just the order of the seasons, Lilah.”

Lilah: “Why?”

…and on and on and on…

ALL DAY. I feel like I should start offering her better answers. Mike is really amazing at answering all of her questions. She can intricately explain our plumbing system, the process of roasting coffee from green beans, and the need for steel toed boots in the garage because of Mike’s patient explanations to all of her, “whys”. I get a hoot out of listening to her talk about the water treatment plant while sitting on the potty.

Anyway, it was a frosty morning, and we had a hoot taking these photos. It’s amazing what I can accomplish with Lilah if I promise her a Timbit in return. In her little mind, a photo session now equals the promise of one chocolate Timbit.

This is one of my favourite hats from CitéFuzz. I LOVE colour, and the new rainbow pattern Lori has been working into her designs lately has me excited!

I took these photos on one of the few warm days in October (if you can believe it!). I’d wanted to photograph them for so long, but my client work always comes before my personal projects! Krissie from Hey Monkey! Sock Monkeys made each of my girls an adorable little monkey. Lilah and Millie love their monkeys so much and play with them daily! Each came dressed in a little skirt and pinafore, and included a pair of pjs and a little flannel quilt. I don’t have to worry about any plastic buttons or eyes that are unsafe for Amelia. Each girl’s name is embroidered on the tail (Lilah always says, “Mine spells: L-I-H-L-I-H-L-I-A-H”). I adore that these monkeys are handmade locally and that so much love goes into each little animal that Krissie makes. I did a previous post of a few of Krissie’s monkeys about four weeks ago. I am excited to announce that Krissie is offering a $50 credit for one lucky winner to create a sock monkey for your little one!

She’s only two and already such a little girl. This hat is the newest CiteFuzz creation. A few weeks ago, I posted photos of Millie in her Cite Cloche Hat. Amelia’s hat is soft and comfy against her baby skin. Lilah’s is made out of a thick cotton. What I love most about Lori’s hats is that they are so adorable, but also practical. They stand up to the test of a two year old. Lilah plays HARD and many of her CiteFuzz hats have been in and out of the wash and still look like new. The dress was also made by Lori. The little piece of fabric weaved through the hat matches the fabric on the dress. The fabric on the hat is removable and interchangeable! You can match this hat to any outfit. LOVE it (and LOVE the kiddo in the outfit – cuteness overload, but I am a little biased).
