You might remember these two from a session I posted a few weeks ago here. These two wanted a few photos in the snow - so we had a little mini session because it didn’t snow the first time we took photos. Hope you two enjoy your second sneak peek as much as the first…

Franco & Cory are Engaged - Part Two - March 6th, 2010
You’re starting to look so much more like a little girl….
and so much less like a baby…
Today you pointed to a bubble in the bathtub and said “bubble” and then looked at me and said “more soap.” It’s amazing to me that you know that the soap makes bubbles - that you know what you want, and how to communicate this to me…
All this in just one year.
Every day you grow and change and I embrace each new step and new word and new discovery with so much excitement and gratitude (but sometimes I miss the little newborn you will never be again).
I love you so fiercely.
I don’t think you will begin to understand the multitude of my love for you until you have a little girl of your own snuggled up on your chest - little toes pressed against the empty womb that was once so full, nursing in the wee hours of the morning in a tangled mess of limbs and sweaty hair and sheets…
Lilah and her “bay-bee” - Monday, March 1st, 2010
Here’s a photo of my (adorable) little girl posing with her waldorf doll. She’s wearing a cloth diaper cover knitted by my good friend Michelle. I LOVE the rainbow wool. She knows how much I love color and is working on a pair of long knitted pants for Lilah that I can’t wait to see. Lilah carries this little doll around everywhere. She calls it her “bay-bee” and makes crying noises (”way-weh-way”) before giving it hugs and kisses. Sooooo cute. This doll was Lilah’s christmas present from Mike and I. It was hand made in Quebec by Julie of Fee Vertelaine Dolls. I love that she has her one special little doll. Lilah’s opa (my dad) thought it would be a good idea to name Lilah’s doll Astrid (because it’s Latin for star and she’s shaped like a little star). I didn’t think it was such a great idea. I have a feeling Lilah would do a really awesome job of getting out the first syllable of the name, and then wouldn’t bother with the rest…so we’re sticking with “bay-bee” (at least until her speech is a little more developed).
Can’t get enough of this little guy….
I’m currently editing photos of grownups and all I want to do is work on this session - so I’m posting this one more photo so I can have my daily fix of yummy newborn perfection and share it with everyone else who might enjoy a daily fix. SOOOOOOOOO much better than coffee (loving the toes touching his elbow…)
Miss R. - Saturday, February 13th, 2010
This one is for you Mell and Steve….you two make the prettiest babies…
Little Mr. L. - 10 days new - Thursday, February 11th, 2010
You might remember Damiano and Stacey from the (snowy) maternity shoot I photographed a few weeks ago (you can see the full post HERE). Stacey had an appointment to be induced on the 4th, but Mr. L. made his appearance on the 31st of January - just when he decided it was the right time to greet the world. This little guy was sooo peaceful. He let me move him around countless times and barely made a peep through the entire session. Damiano and Stacey, congrats on your new son. He is so beautiful and perfect in every way. You have to call me on his first birthday so I can take some follow up photos of Mr. L. banging on his baby baby grand piano, but for now, here he is sleeping peacefully on top of it…

These blue suede sneakers used to be Damiano’s when he was a baby.
All You Need is LOVE… - Little Miss A. & Mr. C. - January 27th, 2010
I always think about what an AWESOME job I have when I get to photograph newborns - and, believe me, photographing twins is a double dose of AWESOMENESS (such a great word…I had to look that one up to make sure it was actually a word!). I had such a great time with this sleepy little brother and sister. I’m sure in two years there will be lots of yelling and poking and hair pulling, but for now, they are content to just sweetly snuggle up to one another. Mr. C. was alert for most of the session, but Miss A. just slept and slept (at birth, she was a pound lighter and 6 inches shorter than her brother, so she still has some catching up to do!). I love the close up of her lips covered in little milk blisters (I LOVE little newborn lips). Deb, thank-you for inviting me into your home to photograph your babies. They are so beautiful and so perfect. Isn’t life fantastic?
[Note to my photographer friends: I'm working with a new screen profile - could anyone let me know if the whites look blown out? I'm looking at this on my father's computer and it doesn't look like it does on my screen. The fur is blown out in all the images]

Damiano & Stacey - Maternity Shoot - January 22nd, 2010
I had the opportunity to photograph Damiano and Stacey two weeks ago. They are expecting their first child. We hadn’t met before the shoot, so I was pretty excited when they got out of their car and were both dressed in vibrant colours. I LOVE when clients add a little colour to their wardrobe. I know I sound like a huge dork, but colour excites me! I also get really excited about winter accessories (hats, boots, mittens [ooh - those little mittens on the strings], scarves, earmuffs - you get the picture!).
And since we’re on the topic of things that excite me, I was practically jumping up and down when I looked out the window an hour before the shoot and saw snow falling from the sky. Beautiful FAT snowflakes! Not wet, slushy, dirty snow - fluffy, white, sparkling snowflakes just HAPPENED to be falling. I’m like a little kid when I look at thousands of snowflakes falling from the sky, and can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that no two snowflakes are ever the same…
Anyway, I had a great time with both of you. Dam, you just light up around your bride and the little peanut she’s carrying. I can’t wait to see you in a few weeks with your new son or daughter. Stacey, you are SO adorable! You truly have that pregnant “glow” that everyone talks about! I’ll be thinking of you next week on your due date. I’m so looking forward to meeting your new baby….
Enjoy your sneak peek and enjoy the last few days you have left of your pregnancy (this time goes by so quickly….)
